Dear Parents

– having a few moments I thought I would write a few lines to you. we are well at present except I have had the ague 3 or 4 times. but I am getting better now.

we moved from Camp Chandler to U.S. Arsnal Dearbornville and are now in tents. Eli & John & my self are in one tent together. our tents are about 8 feet square. we was paid our 27 dollars yesterday and are going to muster for our back pay tomorrow but we don’t get it till the 4 of next month.

Capt. Dicey is not here now and we can’t get a furlow till he comes back and John says we had better wait till we get our next pay and then get one. the Col. Says we won’t leave the Ars till next fall. we will have a chance. any way I will put in $20 dollars for fear you will be hard up before we come.

My wrist aches so hard that I cannot write any longer. write – soon. F. M. Perry
