Dear Aunt Miley:
I expect you thought we were all dead because we didn’t not answer your letter but we have been very busy. We have been cleaning house but are done now. We have our garden made and it is all up. We have fifty little chickens. We are all well at present and hope you are the same.
Our fruit trees were just in full bloom last week. We have just begun to plant corn here. I expect we are a way behind you folks. I would love to be with you when aunt May comes. My brothers address is Charles Peoples, Grove City, Ohio. R.F.D. # 2. Her name was Fannie Shaub before she was married. She lived at a little town called Hinderhook. That is down close to Circleville.
My husband was born in Ross County and he has no relation living by the name of Boyd and he was the only child. His father died about seven months before he was born. So the boy you mentioned did not work for his father. Saturday May the 8th is my birthday and I will be forty-two. I think I am getting old.
I suppose you are having lots of fish this spring. They say there are lots of them in the rivers and lakes. We are having cool weather here now. It is almost cold enough for frost. We are getting 16 cents for eggs and 25 cents for butter now. What do you get for eggs out there. Well I guess this is all for this time so write soon and let us know how you are and we will try not to be so slow about answering the next time. Goodbye from you niece.
