Dear Miss Buckley,
Just a few lines in acknowledgement of your lovely parcel which I recived last night in very good condition. I was out at a concert and got back about 10pm when one of the boys handed it to me then we had a midnight feed which we all enjoyed. There is six of us in this tent and well join in send the Cheapside Literary Society our heartfelt thanks. The parcel has sure seen some of Europe, twice to France and a round of al the hospitals in England and then here.
Please excuse the scribbles as I am lying on the floor of the tent trying to write this.
I hope this will find you as wella s it leaves us.
