Boyd Letter February 1915

To: Almira (Peoples) McKean From: Effie (Peoples) Boyd (niece, daughter of Robert Peoples, Almira’s brother)

Feb. 4, 1915
Grove City, Ohio,

Dear aunt:

I will answere your letter that I received a few days ago. How are you by this time? We are all well but me and I am not feeling very well. Poor mother died December the 30th she had another stroke. She was buried New Years day. We all know she is better off as she is out of her suffering but we miss her.

I haven’t received a letter from you since last fall. The last letter I wrote I never got no answer until the other day. The mail is carried around and put in the boxes so the Martino’s couldn’t get you letter must have got lost.

We have had lots of snow out here and it is still cold. The old ground hog saw his shadow so I suppose we will have six weeks more of cold weather. Charlies folks are all well. We got a letter from Aunt Mary Ellen before mother died. She is in Springfield Ill. She and her man are parted. Her man has had a stroke and has to be cared for like a baby. She works out by the week in Springfield. Uncle Henry lives in Columbus Ohio. They are the only two that are left now. Catherine Martino isn’t very well this winter but she lives all alone.

Well I guess this is all I can think of for this time. Answer right away and let us know how you are. We would all love to see you. Well good bye from Mrs Effie Boyd Grove City, Ohio R.F.D. # 1,
