"The last evening he was at home we cleared
the room and he and Alice had a dance...." Eunice Folkes, England 29 Oct 1918
Oct 29 1918
Dear Mrs Ross
I heard this morning about your dear boy’s death. I did like him so much. In
fact we all did. Dear old Don. He used to nurse my baby for me. So tenderly.
I can see him now. He would take her from me, and walk her up and down the
room and look at her so lovingly. The last evening he was at home we cleared
the room and he and Alice had a dance. I can see them going round together
now, so happy. I do feel grief for you but rest assured he was happy, aye and
so good natured.
Yours sincerely
Eunice Folkes.
